In addition to a progressively structured standard German language course program from elementary to advanced levels we offer special topic courses, as demand warrants, such as conversation and preparatory courses for the Goethe-Institut examinations Goethe-Zertifikat B1, B2 und C1.

Small class sizes encourage interaction between students and instructors. Our instructors are trained teachers of German as a Foreign Language with extensive teaching experience at the Goethe-Zentrum Vancouver, the Goethe-Institut, and at the university level.

Our goal is to provide each student with the ability to communicate effectively in everyday life. Information about social and cultural aspects of life in German speaking countries forms an integral part of each course, providing the context for new vocabulary and structures.

All courses are taught in 9 week sessions. A standard course consists of two classroom periods at 50 minutes each, twice a week. Elementary I (A1.1) and Elementary II (A1.2) cover the A1 proficiency level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Special topic classes such as conversation and special intermediate/advanced levels meet for two classroom periods at 50 minutes each once a week.
